The new exhibition “Windows of Hope” by painter and writer Hedva Almoz opened on Monday at Bifnocho, a cultural space located in the former building of the IDF Spokesperson's Unit in Tel Aviv.
Former editor-in-chief of the renowned Israeli architecture and design magazine Building and Housing, Hedva Almoz presents a series of paintings centered around a recurring motif: the window. The window goes far beyond its architectural function. It becomes a symbol of transition, intimacy, projection toward the future, and dialogue between the artist’s inner world and the outside world. Through her work, Almoz explores the way private spaces conceal human stories that are invisible at first glance.
“Hope can create reality,” explains Hedva Almoz. “The more we hope, think, and act with sincere faith, the more hope can help us reach our goals.”

For nearly thirty-five years, Hedva Almoz has dedicated her career to promoting Israeli interior design and encouraging the integration of Israeli art into architectural projects. She has also published nine books on design as well as two novels. Her works have previously been exhibited in Tel Aviv, Jaffa, and Yulan, New York.
The exhibition’s curator, Lizbet Afek, highlights the deeply human dimension of the paintings:
“Behind every window hides a small private world. Hedva’s paintings invite viewers to look inside and discover the hope within — sometimes immediately, and sometimes only after longer observation.”

“Windows of Hope” strongly reflects the spirit of Bifnocho: creating bridges between people, encouraging dialogue, and imagining new realities through art and collective reflection.
A special meeting with the artist will take place on May 25 at 7:30 PM. Admission is free with prior registration.
The exhibition will run until May 31 at 9 Itamar Ben Avi Street, Tel Aviv.
