On the occasion of the UAE National Environment Day, celebrated annually on February 4, Dulsco Group, in collaboration with Dubai Municipality, organized a large-scale clean-up campaign at Love Lake, in the Al Qudra area.
The initiative was carried out as part of the corporate social responsibility program “One Hour with the Cleanliness Engineer,” supervised by Dubai Municipality, which aims to preserve urban cleanliness and promote environmental sustainability. The campaign brought together a wide range of participants — Dulsco employees, clients, and partners — highlighting the group’s ongoing commitment to protecting natural spaces across the UAE.
Held on the morning of January 30, 2026, the campaign mobilized more than 120 volunteers from various institutions and companies, contributing a total of 232 volunteer hours. Participants included Ashok Leyland UAE, Sharjah Higher Colleges of Technology, Raffles Dubai, Sofitel Dubai The Obelisk, Ritz-Carlton DIFC, Savoy Hotel Apartments, and Saint Vincent Trading Group.
A team from the Museum of the Future also took part in the operation, underscoring the important role cultural institutions play in promoting sustainability and environmental awareness.
In total, 200 kilograms of waste were collected, including 120 kg of recyclable materials and 80 kg of general waste, helping to protect local wildlife and the fragile desert ecosystems of the region.
Commenting on the initiative, David Stockton, Group Managing Director of Dulsco, welcomed “a positive shift in environmental awareness and in the efforts being made to protect natural sites across the UAE, both in the desert and along the beaches.” He nevertheless noted that certain seasonal practices, particularly during the winter months, continue to pose a threat to the environment and wildlife, making National Environment Day a key opportunity to strengthen collective action.

While Dubai Municipality maintains recreational areas at a high level of cleanliness, outdoor activities and seasonal camping can result in waste such as plastic bags, food packaging, single-use items, and industrial containers. If not disposed of responsibly, these materials can cause serious harm to the environment.
Data from previous campaigns show that increased community participation has not led to a rise in waste volumes. In 2023, 133 volunteers collected more than 600 kilograms of waste, while in 2024, 170 participants helped remove nearly 465 kilograms of waste and recyclable materials. The 2026 campaign continues this positive trend.

In 2025, Dulsco also supported several beach and natural area clean-up operations across the UAE, resulting in the removal of nearly five tonnes of waste, both recyclable and non-recyclable.
Through these initiatives, the group reaffirms its commitment to supporting the UAE’s national sustainability goals and to encouraging citizens and businesses alike to protect the country’s unique natural heritage for future generations.
