SeaNovation took part in the official launch of a new desert agrovoltaic research and development center, jointly developed by Ardom Agro and Doral. Located in a desert environment, the large-scale site represents a key milestone in the development and validation of innovative technologies designed specifically for arid regions in Israel.
Operated by SeaNovation as a full-scale testing platform, the center was designed to address a recurring strategic need expressed by startups and technology teams: the ability to test solutions under real-world conditions. Unlike limited pilot projects or controlled environments, this infrastructure enables technologies to be directly exposed to the climatic, energy, and agricultural constraints unique to desert regions.
The site is now open to a selected group of startups and technology teams developing solutions in key areas such as precision agriculture, sensing and detection technologies, agricultural robotics, water technologies, and agrovoltaics.
The objective is clear: to accelerate the transition from prototype to commercial deployment by reducing technical and operational risks.
Agrovoltaics—combining agricultural production and solar energy generation on the same land—stands as one of the central pillars of the center’s activity. In the context of climate change, increasing pressure on water resources, and growing demand for renewable energy, this approach offers concrete pathways toward more resilient and sustainable agriculture, particularly in desert environments.
By bringing together industrial players, energy operators, researchers, and startups within a single ecosystem, SeaNovation, Ardom Agro, and Doral aim to establish a clear bridge between early-stage experimentation and large-scale commercial applications. This collaborative dynamic positions the desert not as a constraint, but as a powerful living laboratory for the future of agriculture and energy.
In parallel, SeaNovation has officially launched a new cohort of its AquaBoost accelerator at its innovation center in Eilat, welcoming a carefully selected group of startups from across Israel. This new cycle marks an important step in supporting the development of innovative technologies related to water, the marine environment, and sustainable solutions.
The launch brought together all participating startups for an official opening session, followed by a kickoff workshop led by Einat Mizrahi. The workshop focused on practical tools for strategic networking and effective communication—essential skills for entrepreneurs operating within highly competitive and interconnected technology ecosystems.
