Israel Aerospace Industries Unveils Ellyon, a New Multi-Mission Intelligence and Electronic Warfare Aircraft

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has unveiled Ellyon, a new multi-mission aircraft designed to meet the demands of modern battlefields. This next-generation platform combines advanced intelligence, surveillance, and electronic warfare capabilities into a single aircraft, aiming to provide armed forces with a decisive operational advantage in increasingly complex environments.

Capable of operating hundreds of kilometers away from its target while remaining outside the range of threats, Ellyon can detect, collect, and analyze intelligence in real time while simultaneously conducting electronic jamming operations. Thanks to its advanced electronic warfare capabilities, it can disrupt both enemy radar and communication systems during the same mission, reducing the effectiveness of hostile air defense networks.

The aircraft is equipped with a long-range radar, electro-optical sensors, signals intelligence (SIGINT) systems, and high-bandwidth satellite communications (SATCOM). All collected data is processed by an artificial intelligence-based mission management system that fuses information from the onboard sensors before transmitting it in real time to command centers and other operational platforms.

Another key advantage of Ellyon is its compatibility with a wide range of large business jets, providing flexibility for operators. The aircraft also features a comprehensive self-protection suite, including threat detection, warning systems, and electronic countermeasures designed to ensure survivability during high-risk missions.

According to Dror Bar, CEO of ELTA Systems and IAI Executive Vice President, the new platform represents "a technological leap forward," accelerating the cycle between intelligence collection and operational decision-making while enhancing control of the electromagnetic battlespace.

According to IAI, the technologies integrated into Ellyon have already been proven in operational programs. The aircraft joins ELTA Systems' family of intelligence platforms developed for the Israel Defense Forces and allied militaries around the world.
