The Francophone Community Center of Bat Yam, in the suburbs of Tel Aviv, is organizing a unique charity evening for the French in Israel on Thursday, June 27, for the benefit of wounded IDF soldiers. The opening cocktail, sponsored by Raphaël Jerusalmy, former Israeli military intelligence officer, will take place in the presence of Ingrid Les Bons Tuyaux (influencer who helps the French integrate into Israel) and will be hosted by William Zerbib from Tandem Tv.
“This project was born from an observation: since October 7, there has been a lot of talk about soldiers who fell but little about those who return injured from Gaza and the North. We therefore wanted to focus on these heroes thanks to this evening in partnership with the Beit Halochem association, which takes care of disabled soldiers after their hospitalization in several rehabilitation centers,” declared Samuel Guelem, one of the organizers.
This exceptional event, which welcomes 200 people, will take place around the Franco-Israeli artist Dan Groover, based in Tel Aviv, known for having represented Israel's wars. The public will have the privilege of being able to admire his paintings which will be for sale (from 5,000 to 10,000 shekels), and part of which will be donated to the Beit Halochem association. In addition, Dan Groover will donate a painting worth 10,000 shekels which will be up for grabs in the raffle.
“It is very important to show that the French community in Israel is mobilizing for the soldiers, because Hamas does not distinguish between Israeli and Franco-Israeli soldiers. Unfortunately, we do not have the possibility of going to the front to save our hostages and find peace on our ancestral land, so we try to act differently to help those who need it most,” says Samuel Guelem.
Participants will have the privilege of attending the speeches of distinguished guests including Raphaël Jérusalmy and the mayor of Bat Yam, while enjoying a wide choice of cocktails, wines and non-alcoholic drinks that will be served.
The French-speaking spokesperson for the Beit Halochem association will also speak before broadcasting an awareness-raising film on the rehabilitation of soldiers. A wounded Israeli soldier will notably give a poignant testimony of his experience on the ground in Gaza.
During the evening, a call for donations will be launched and the amounts raised will be announced. The event was organized in partnership with the Tefilat Ahim Synagogue, the Beit Halochem association, Dan Groover Arts and EPHOD Winery.
A quality evening from 7:30 p.m. Thursday June 27 at the Francophone Community Center of Bat Yam, 19 rue Sokolov. Entry costs 100 shekels and includes a raffle ticket.
