The Israeli company Meprolight, a subsidiary of the SK Group and a globally recognized leader in military and security electro-optics, has announced the launch of the Sting Lumina, a compact dual-wavelength laser pointer incorporating an infrared (IR) illuminator. Developed in close collaboration with special forces units, the new system is designed to enhance operational effectiveness in complex tactical scenarios, particularly in close-quarters combat (CQB) and discreet nighttime operations.

Built to withstand the harshest operational conditions, the Sting Lumina features a robust architecture suited for high-recoil and large-caliber weapon platforms, including machine guns. The device offers either a red or green visible laser, enabling rapid target acquisition in close-combat environments where reaction speed is critical.

For missions requiring discretion and stealth, the system integrates an infrared laser pointer along with an IR illuminator featuring an adjustable beam diameter, optimized for urban environments and nighttime CQB engagements. This dual capability—visible and infrared—provides operators with increased tactical flexibility, allowing them to adapt to the rapidly evolving threats of modern warfare.

The Sting Lumina also incorporates internal safety mechanisms that prevent accidental switching to high-intensity modes or unintended visible emission—an essential safeguard during sensitive operations.

The device can be activated either via a remote pressure switch or a dedicated top-mounted button, ensuring smooth operation under operational stress. Fully compliant with MIL-STD military standards, the system is qualified for extended use in extreme conditions.

A global player in electro-optics

An established Israeli company, Meprolight has become a global leader in optical and electro-optical sighting systems, thermal imaging, and tritium-based self-illuminated devices. With millions of products sold worldwide, the company offers a comprehensive range of solutions for both day and night operations, including magnified optics, rifle and pistol sights, laser pointers, night-vision devices, and thermal systems.

Its equipment is used by the Israel Defense Forces and by military and security forces in more than 60 countries, demonstrating its reliability in real combat conditions.

With the introduction of the Sting Lumina, Meprolight reaffirms its strategic approach: delivering cutting-edge technological solutions developed through close collaboration with operational units in order to meet the evolving security challenges of the modern battlefield.
