Israeli defense technology company ASIO, which specializes in tactical solutions for military operations, has announced the successful completion of its first funding round, raising $15 million. The investment will enable the company to accelerate product development, expand its manufacturing capabilities, and strengthen its international presence.
The funding round was led by Protego Ventures, an Israeli venture capital fund focused on defense technologies, with participation from Aliya Capital Partners, a Miami-based investment firm active in artificial intelligence, aerospace, defense, and autonomous mobility.
Founded by Tomer Malchi and Yaniv Malchi, ASIO develops advanced systems for ground forces operating in complex and contested environments. Its mission is to improve battlefield coordination, situational awareness, and mission continuity, even in scenarios where communications or GPS signals are disrupted or unavailable.
At the core of the company's portfolio is GeoFusion, a proprietary technology that integrates multiple data sources to provide resilient navigation, accurate force positioning, and real-time coordination between units operating across the battlefield. ASIO's systems are currently deployed across all branches of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and are also used by international defense customers.
"Modern battlefields require technologies that enable tactical units to operate autonomously, make faster decisions, and maintain operational effectiveness in highly contested environments," said Tomer Malchi, ASIO's Founder and CEO. According to him, the new funding will accelerate the company's innovation efforts while supporting its global commercial expansion.
For Lital Leshem, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Protego Ventures, ASIO addresses a critical operational challenge. "While many defense companies develop systems for a single platform, ASIO has built a solution that enables joint forces to remain coordinated and operational even when GPS and communications are unavailable. That capability is driving growing demand for the company's technology across the global defense sector," she said.
Ross Kestin, Founder and CEO of Aliya Capital Partners, believes ASIO represents the next generation of Israeli defense innovation. "ASIO combines combat-proven technology, a profitable business model, and a founding team with extensive operational experience. We are confident in its ability to expand successfully into international markets," he said.
Until now entirely self-funded and profitable, ASIO plans to use the new capital to increase production capacity, accelerate the development of new products, and strengthen partnerships with governments, defense contractors, OEMs, and strategic industrial partners across North America, Europe, and Asia.
The funding comes amid a broader surge in investment in Israel's defense technology sector, driven by extensive operational experience and growing international demand for autonomous, resilient, and interoperable military systems.
