The HaTchiya 14 Creative Center in Jaffa will open its doors on Friday, September 12, for a unique community event combining responsible consumption, culture, and music. The Reality Group, the Tel Aviv-Jaffa Municipality – through its Department of Environment and Sustainability – and Fairy Garden invite the public to a festive day at the crossroads of art, recycling, and togetherness.
On the program: a second-hand market where visitors can browse clothing and objects with stories, find gifts for the Rosh Hashanah holidays, and discover the “Autobeged” booth, a social and ecological initiative that collects and resells vintage and branded clothing in various neighborhoods across the city. Guests will also encounter creations by local designers and independent artisans from the neighborhood, including jewelry, ceramics, illustrations, and unique handmade items.
Music will play a central role with a live performance by JAMLIEL, an Israeli jazz quintet blending standards, modern arrangements, adaptations of pieces from the Israeli music scene, and original compositions. Among the musicians is architect Asaf Ushinsky, whose studio is located at the very heart of HaTchiya 14.
The event is also part of “Bike Month”, with a pop-up repair stand operated by the Lila Association. Local residents will be able to have their bicycles (excluding e-bikes) checked and serviced: tire inflation, lubrication, brake and gear adjustments, puncture repairs, and brake pad replacements.
For the organizers, this market is much more than just a sale:
“It’s a celebration of community, creativity, and sustainability. We are giving objects a new life while building connections among neighbors around shared values,” says Assi Bar-Oulpan, Director of Sustainable Projects at Reality Impact. “This reflects the very spirit of transitional urban uses: transforming real estate into a public space that supports communities and encourages responsible and creative consumption.”
HaTchiya 14 itself is a very special place. Built in the 1960s, this vast 10,000-square-meter industrial building gradually became a home for artisans and artists. Acquired in 2017–2018 by Reality Group and Minrav Group, it has been the focus of a conservation project carried out with the municipality to preserve its unique creative ecosystem and its role as a cultural heart of the city.
Today, HaTchiya 14 stands as a hybrid space where old and new coexist in a spirit of urban reinvention.
📍 The event will take place on Friday, September 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 14 HaTchiya Street, Tel Aviv.
