Israeli startup Aporia, founded in 2019 in Tel Aviv by Liran Hason and Alon Gubkin, specializes in the monitoring and security of artificial intelligence (AI) systems. The company has developed a cutting-edge platform that enables businesses to supervise, explain, and optimize their machine learning models in production. This state-of-the-art platform allows data science teams to detect anomalies in real time, such as data drift, model bias, performance failures, or security vulnerabilities, including in generative AI systems. It also offers transparency features, providing explanations for model decisions, which is crucial for meeting regulatory requirements and ensuring the responsible use of AI.
Aporia essentially acts as a control tower for AI: it observes, alerts, explains, and secures models used in real-world conditions. Its goal is to ensure that models remain reliable, fair, high-performing, and legally compliant, even after deployment.
Aporia’s technology is based on a machine learning observability platform, which monitors AI models in production. Aporia connects to machine learning models via simple integrations. It can monitor any model, regardless of the algorithm or technology used (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, XGBoost, etc.). Once connected, Aporia observes the model’s inputs (features), outputs (predictions), and sometimes ground truths (labels), and specifically checks for changes in the data compared to the original training data. Thanks to its monitoring, auditing, and traceability tools, Aporia helps companies comply with standards like the GDPR (Europe), the AI Act, and responsible AI laws in the United States.
In December 2024, Aporia was acquired by Coralogix, an Israeli company specializing in data analytics, for approximately $50 million. As part of the acquisition, a new AI research and development center, named Coralogix AI, was established in Tel Aviv. Coralogix plans to invest tens of millions of dollars in this center to enhance transparency, security, and oversight of AI systems.

Aporia’s clients include well-known companies such as Lemonade, DoorDash, MunichRe, Bosch, and Sixt. In 2023, it was recognized by the World Economic Forum as one of the pioneering technology companies, and in 2024, it was selected by TIME magazine as one of the best inventions of the year.
Aporia’s headquarters are located in Tel Aviv, with a presence also in the United States, in San Jose, California. Since its founding, the company has raised around $30 million from investors such as Tiger Global, Samsung Next, TLV Partners, and Vertex Ventures. A very promising future lies ahead in a continuously expanding sector.
