A collective project bringing together Jewish and Arab students from Beit Berl’s School of Art (Hamidrasha) will be held for the first time at the Kfar Saba Municipal Gallery.
Since August 21, the students have been gathering for two weeks of joint creation, an artistic dialogue, and a shared space of expression. At the conclusion of this project, their works will be presented at the gallery from September 9 through October 28, 2025.
This year’s exhibition, entitled Bad End, Good End, will open on September 9 at 7:30 p.m. It explores the idea of an ending not only as a tragedy but also as a turning point and an opportunity for renewal. The theme invites reflection on closure as both rupture and possibility: the end as loss, but also as a chance for transformation and rebirth. The exhibition offers a space to probe personal and collective narratives, questioning the tension between disillusionment and hope, closure and regeneration, within a reality marked by cycles of urgency and strain.
A range of events will accompany the exhibition, including workshops, artist talks, and guided tours. This marks the eighth edition of the project, conceived by artist Ruti Sela. This year’s curators are Bar Tzafrir, a Midrash graduate, and Hadassah Cohen, curator of the gallery.
Initiated by artist and curator Ruti Sela, the project has become a true artistic tradition at Beit Berl’s School of Art. For seven years, this creative laboratory took place at the school’s gallery on 19 Yarkon Street in Tel Aviv. For the first time, it is now relocating to the Kfar Saba Municipal Gallery.
Beyond its thematic dimension, the event raises the question of whether dialogue and human connection themselves can become raw material for art. It highlights the unique encounter between young Jewish and Arab creators—an essential axis of this initiative that, in the current context, feels more urgent than ever.
