The construction sector in the United Arab Emirates continues its rapid expansion and is expected to reach $130.8 billion by 2029, driven by large-scale infrastructure projects and sustained urbanization. In this context, issues of safety, sustainability, and resilience are becoming central to the future of cities.

Against this backdrop, Encardio Rite, a company specializing in geotechnical monitoring and infrastructure health, will host the Safe Dubai 2026 forum on February 13, 2026, at the Grand Hyatt Dubai. The event will bring together international experts to discuss emerging infrastructure monitoring practices and the use of data to reduce risks and enhance long-term project management.

One of the highlights of the forum will be a keynote address by Professor Kenichi Soga of the University of California, Berkeley. He will share his experience from major projects around the world and explain how monitoring data contributes to improved technical and operational decision-making.

According to Encardio Rite, smart construction has entered a new phase, where the primary challenge is no longer data collection but data interpretation — leveraging insights to enhance infrastructure safety and performance. This approach aligns with findings from a McKinsey report estimating that inefficiencies in the global construction sector cost more than $1.6 trillion annually.

With Safe Dubai 2026, the organizers aim to emphasize practical and measurable solutions, positioning safety, efficiency, and accountability as essential pillars of infrastructure management in increasingly complex environments.
